What to expect at your first lesson at Star.
You will be greeted by a member of our team who will assess you on your experience in Boxing or Kickboxing. From this brief chat you will have the Lesson explained to you and be assisted in your joining of the class. No experience, no problem: we will give guidance and explain every routine and exercise to make sure you are entirely comfortable with your first class.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly family-run club so you can rest assured by the time you finish that lesson you will feel comfortable and at home with Star.
How do I join Star Kickboxing/Boxing?
After having had your 2 free lessons, simply speak to any of our instructors to complete registration to become a member of Star.
The sign-up process is simple; we will give you a form to complete, which needs to be returned with 2 passport photos with the sign-up fee (£70 as of January 2022), which provides you with your personalised club uniform (gloves, shirt and shorts/leggings) and your first year’s annual licence. A direct debit will be setup for you, but there is no long-term commitment required. You can change your package and manage your direct debit at any time.
What classes do you offer? Do I need previous experience?
We offer a variety of classes for all ages and abilities. Please explore our kickboxing and boxing sections for more information. We are proud to welcome everyone of all abilities, regardless of experience or fitness. If you are already a serious martial artist or boxer, or aspiring to be one, we have trained world champions and have decades of experience between our team. However, if you are just looking for fun, fitness and to meet new people, we pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere, and will be glad to give you an enjoyable, but challenging, workout!

Yes you may watch your child train but we insist upon leaving all instruction to one of our highly qualified instructors and not to interfere with their teaching.
Do you offer grading for kickboxing? Do I have to grade?
Grading is an optional journey which many students find to be a rewarding focus for their training. You do not need to attend separate lessons for grading, and whether you are looking for a couple of belts for experience or take the whole journey to the black belts, we will support you every step of way. Gradings happen every quarter at both our Gravesend and Bexley sites.
